Saud Shakeel Early life and career
Saud Shakeel was born on September 5, 1995, in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. He started playing cricket at a young age and showed his talent in various age-group tournaments. He was part of Pakistan’s squad at the 2014 Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup, where he scored 127 runs in six innings and helped his team reach the final of the 16-team competition.
He played his first first-class match on October 26, 2015, for Karachi Whites in the 2015–16 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He scored 488 runs in seven games in his debut season and impressed everyone with his technique and temperament. He was selected to play for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2018 Pakistan Super League (PSL) players draft, but did not get a chance to play.
He performed well in the domestic circuit and became the leading run-scorer for Pakistan Television in the 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He also represented Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federal Areas, and Sindh in various List Tournaments. He was named as the captain of Pakistan’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh, where he scored 262 runs in four matches and led his team to the title.

Saud Shakeel International career
Saud Shakeel was named in Pakistan’s Test squad for their series against South Africa in January 2021, but did not get to play. He was selected for Pakistan‘s Test and limited-overs squads for their tours to South Africa and Zimbabwe in March 2021 but was injured and ruled out of the ODI matches against South Africa.
He finally made his international debut on 8 July 2021, for Pakistan against England in an ODI at Cardiff. He scored 5 runs in his first innings and took one wicket with his bowling. He made his Test debut on 1 December 2022 against England at Rawalpindi. He scored a brilliant century (125 not out) in his second Test match at Lahore, and followed it up with another half-century (54) in his third Test match at Karachi.
He has played five Test matches and five ODIs for Pakistan so far, scoring 580 runs at an average of 72.50 in tests and 67 runs at an average of 22.33 in ODIs. He has also taken one wicket each in both formats.
